American Music Awards

In this review, about the results of the rally of American musicians and, of course, about who, how and what was dressed.

Taylor Swift dominated the American Music Awards, again. The 50th annual awards ceremony took place yesterday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The singer-songwriter took home six awards, including the main one - "Artist of the Year".

The new AMA prizes have raised Swift's total musical accomplishments to 40, doubling her own record as the most frequent winner in AMA history, where fan votes are the deciding factor in the awards. Songs from her latest album, Midnights, reached all of the top ten spots on the Billboard singles chart upon release in October. Taylor entered the stage to receive numerous prizes in a golden jumpsuit, decorated with numerous studs.

Lionel Richie, known for the hit "All Night Long" and other songs of the 80s, received an honorary award for creative achievement during the ceremony. Charlie Puth and Stevie Wonder played on stage a duet on the piano of his famous compositions: "Brick House", "Easy", "Say You, Say Me" and others.

Pennsylvania-born singer Pink opened the evening with her new single "Never Gonna Not Dance Again" to a standing ovation from the audience. She later returned to the stage to remember singer/actress Olivia Newton-John, who passed away in August, and perform her hit "Hopelessly Devoted to You". The ovation and tears of some spectators were not long in coming.

On stage, Pink shone in a soft pink evening dress with silver embroidery and dramatic sleeves trimmed with ostrich fur. And at the beginning of the evening she appeared before the photographers in a short shiny fringed dress in the style of the “thundering 20s” by Bob Mackie. A little later, her husband, motorcycle racer Carey Hart, and two children, 11-year-old Ullow and 5-year-old Jameson, joined her for posing.

Descendants star Dove Cameron was named Best New Artist at the ceremony. The former Disney Channel actress not only achieved success on TV this year, but also on the Billboard charts with the pop single "Boyfriend".

On the black carpet at the beginning of the evening, she posed in a spectacular Marc Jacobs suit - an open short white corset and a deconstructed long black skirt. The futuristic-looking look was completed with nails, an original hairstyle and “clean” makeup with flying arrows.

The author of the album "Emo Girl" Machine Gun Kelly took the stage to receive the trophy "Favorite rock artist" in an unusual purple suit with metal rods sticking out of it. Part of MGK's speech, however, was cut off during the broadcast. In the end, he just knocked over the microphone stand and shouted: “See you on Mars!”.

Carrie Underwood also wowed the audience at the AMAs with a performance, and a very effective one.

During the performance of the composition "Crazy Angels", the singer chose to fly over the auditorium on a special design and in an acrobat costume. And on the black carpet upon arrival, she shone in a Tony Ward dress in pastel shades.
