Forbes has published a list of the highest paid celebrities
According to the results of last year, the rock group Genesis took the first place.
Forbes magazine has officially released the list of the ten highest paid "workers" in the entertainment industry for 2022. The rating turned out to be an interesting combination of musicians, actors, directors and showrunners. Britain's Genesis topped the list with $230 million. As they are called, the pioneers of progressive rock sold the rights to their works to Concord Music Group in September. The deal included the transfer of rights and separate sources of income from the band's music, as well as sources of income from the solo activities of Phil Collins and his bandmates Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford.
Second on the list was Sting with $210 million. The former Ploice frontman and 17-time Grammy winner made so much money, again, from the February 2022 sale of his music catalog to Universal Music Group. Multi-talented Tyler Perry came in third with $175 million in payoffs from making films, television series and running his Atlanta production base. Perry also became the only billionaire to be included in the published Forbes list.
In addition to the top three, the Forbes list includes South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone ($160), The Simpsons creators James L. Brooks and Matt Groening ($105), actor and producer Brad Pitt ($100), the Rolling Stones ( $98), director James Cameron ($95), singer-songwriter Taylor Swift ($92), and rapper Bad Bunny ($88).
