Adele and Ed Sheeran refused to perform at the coronation of Charles III
The stars cited being very busy on the day of the ceremony, May 7th.
The organizers of the concert in honor of the coronation of Charles III faced unforeseen circumstances after Adele and Ed Sheeran turned down invitations to perform solo numbers.
According to the Daily Mail, Charles III himself expressed a desire to invite these British stars when he discussed the organizational aspects of the upcoming ceremony. But both Sheeran and Adele replied that they were very busy on May 7, the day of the coronation at Windsor Castle, and would not be able to please the monarch and the audience. Which, of course, caused great disappointment in the king's team, the newspaper notes.
However, the artists can also be understood. Their schedules are drawn up years in advance, and sometimes even the king cannot influence them to neglect their obligations and make room for him in the work schedules.
