Celine Dion came out of seclusion and attended the Grammy ceremony
The 55-year-old singer, who suffers from rigid person syndrome, presented Taylor Swift with the award for Album of the Year.
Celine Dion appeared in public for the first time in a long time amid ongoing health problems. The singer attended the Grammy music awards ceremony, where she took the stage at the end of the evening to announce the winner in the Album of the Year category. It was Taylor Swift for the collection “Midnights”. Dion herself has received a Grammy five times, including for best album “Let’s Talk About Love,” and the first time this happened was 27 years ago.
Two years ago, the singer was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease - rigid person syndrome - characterized by muscle spasms. Because of this, she was forced to leave her career and engage in rehabilitation. Celine practically did not appear in public all this time.
“Thank you everyone, I love you too. When I say that I’m happy to be here, I really mean it from the bottom of my heart,” Dion addressed the audience. Before announcing the nominees, she told the crowd to "never take for granted" the joy that music brings.
