The Georgian figure skater Maurice Kvitelashvili left the group of the honored coach of Russia Eteri Tutberidze, and now he is training with the Italian Lorenzo Magri.
"Yes, Maurice is currently training in Italy with Magri. Nobody recommended him to change the club to a non-Russian one to participate in international competitions," Melitta Tagauri, representative of the Georgian Figure Skating Federation, quoted RIA News as saying.
In the group of Eteri Tutberidze, the 27-year-old skater trained throughout his junior and adult career. During this time, he won bronze at the 2020 European Championships, as well as gold at the Grand Prix stage in Sochi.
Earlier, coach Alexander Zhulin called Mikhail Kolyada the most talented figure skater in Russia over the past 10 years.
