Hans-Dieter Flick: Germany fought until the last minute
The Germans managed to get away from defeat in the end of the match with the Spaniards.
Hans-Dieter Flick, the head coach of the German national football team, said that he was proud of his wards after a draw in the 2nd round match of the World Cup group stage against Spain (1:1).
"The team fought until the last minute. But we only took the first step. The team has achieved great success, I'm proud of it," Kicker quoted him as saying.
Flick added that the Germans needed to keep up this playing momentum in order to achieve a high result in the tournament.
