WBC president gives Fury a year to make a final decision on ending his care

Sports functionaries are in no hurry to let the champion retire.

President Mauricio Suleiman urged the boxing community not to rush to retire Tyson Fury after he announced he was ending his career.

According to the official, he spoke with the British boxer and gave him time to think before deciding that someone else will hold the WBC heavyweight title.

"We have a year to have the next mandatory fight. If it goes without Tyson, maybe have a series of fights, a boxing tournament until the final elimination. But at the moment we'll wait for Fury's final decision," said the WBC head.

Let's remind, that on April, 24 Tyson Fury knocked out Dillian White in the fight at Wembley stadium and kept his championship belt. After the fight, Fury announced that he was retiring from boxing.
