Head coach of Portugal: It's time to leave Ronaldo alone
Fernando Santos said that the forward did not threaten to leave the national team.
Portugal's head coach Fernando Santos said Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo did not threaten to leave the team after failing to make the starting lineup for the World Cup 1/8 finals match against Switzerland (6-1).
According to him, Ronaldo was unhappy but accepted Santos' decision.
"It's time to leave Ronaldo alone. He never told me he wanted to leave the national team and I think it's time for us to stop this conversation," the BBC quoted Santos as saying.
Today it was reported that Ronaldo will not be in the starting lineup and in the quarterfinal match against Morocco, which will be held on December 10.
