Rafael Nadal came to the Australian Open with a three-month-old son

The athlete persuaded his wife to go on a long trip.

One of the main rivals of the Australian Open, Rafael Nadal said he will make his Grand Slam debut as a dad.

Moreover, the tennis player brought his wife and three-month-old son to the tournament. All because he couldn't leave them for a whole month, but he had no right to miss the competition either.

"I would just go crazy here for a whole month without them. It definitely wouldn't have allowed me to show my best game. I wasn't ready for that kind of sacrifice," the athlete said.

According to Nadal, he is insanely happy that his wife correctly assessed the situation and agreed to such a long trip as a family.
