Ovechkin's approach to the eternal record is interesting to everyone

He believes that it is difficult to compare a Russian with Gretzky.

Ex-striker of the Russian national hockey team Pavel Bure said that forwards Wayne Gretzky and Alexander Ovechkin are difficult to compare.

"These are different generations. And each generation has its own idol. Gretzky and Ovechkin are different players, and here who likes what more," Match TV quotes him.

Bure added that he was not annoyed by the constant discussion about whether Ovechkin would catch up with Gretzky in the number of goals in the NHL. Now the Russian has 810 goals, the Canadian has 894.

“Well, imagine for yourself, it was an eternal record, and Ovechkin is approaching it. This is interesting to everyone,” he concluded.

Gretzky has no doubt that Ovechkin will beat his record
