Ngannou was offered a record fee in UFC history for the fight with Jones

Most fighters don't even make that much in their entire career.

Some details of the negotiations between the UFC and former heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou were revealed even before they said goodbye to each other.

The fighter himself admitted in an interview that he was offered a long-term contract, and they promised to pay eight million dollars for the next fight with Jon Jones. No one has ever received such money for one fight in the league.

Ngannou himself wanted a short contract for three fights, and in addition to two meetings with Jones, he wanted a mandatory fight with Stipe Miocic.

But in the end, the parties did not come to an understanding. Playing in the league since 2015, Ngannou left the UFC and lost his championship.

Subsequently, the head of the promotion, Dana White, suggested that the Cameroonian was simply afraid of losing to Jones, with which the fighter, of course, did not agree.
