UFC champ Deiveson Figueredo moves to bantamweight on one condition
It is important for an athlete who will be the title holder in his new weight category.
Brazilian UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueredo, who previously announced the transition to the bantamweight division, called the reason why he could change his mind.
According to the athlete, he, like everyone else, heard about the return to the octagon of MMA veteran Henry Cejudo. He faces a title fight with division champion Aljamain Sterling.
If Sterling wins, Figueredo will head straight to bantamweight. If Cejudo wins, he will remain in his category.
“I want to move up to bantamweight to fight a champion. If the title is in the hands of Cejudo, I will not fight him. This is the man I consider my brother,” Figueredo said, reminding fans of his longtime friendship with Cejudo.
