Washington Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette praised Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin.
"He's a guy who takes charge because he's the leader of the team. I'm impressed. He's chasing Wayne Gretzky, it's unimaginable. But it's even more unimaginable to me that he's one of the most physically fit players," he said on the 106.7 podcast. The Fan's Sports Junkies.
Laviolette added that Ovechkin is one of the veterans of the "Washington" who can be relied upon if the team's results have declined.
On account of Ovechkin 810 goals in the NHL, he is 84 accurate shots behind Gretzky.
