Legendary Roy Jones wants to challenge Artur Beterbiev
The veteran wants to demonstrate his skills to the current champion.
The legendary boxer of the past, ex-world champion in four weight divisions at once, Roy Jones Jr., announced his desire to fight with the owner of the WBC, WBO and IBF titles in the light heavyweight category Artur Beterbiev.
According to the American celebrity, his goal is to show that the skills and power of past years are in no way inferior to the youth and talent of modern champions.
“I would gladly accept such a challenge and fight Beterbiev. I have something to demonstrate to one of the best boxers of the modern era,” said Jones.
True, the veteran has long since retired from the professional ring, and conducts only demonstration fights. So, it is not yet clear what status a potential duel between Jones and Beterbiev could have.
