Alex Pereira could move to another division for a second title
The fighter himself has not yet announced such a transition.
Brazilian fighter Glover Teixera, who announced his retirement after losing to Jamal Hill at the recent UFC 283, plans to become a coach.
He sees his compatriot and current middleweight champion Alex Pereira as his first ward.
“My time to go into the octagon has passed. Now I will focus all my energy on our champion Alex Pereira so that he can defend his belt repeatedly,” Teixeira said.
According to the athlete, when Pereira finally establishes himself at the top of the middle division, he will most likely want to change divisions.
“When he defends the belt with all the contenders, he will move to light heavyweight and become the champion there,” the athlete said.
