The Russian specialist will work with the defenders.
Russian Sergei Gonchar joined the new coaching staff, “Vancouver Canucks”.
He will assist Ric Tocquet, who has taken over from Bruce Boudreau as head coach. The potter will train the defenders.
In 2015-2020, the Russian specialist was the assistant head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Vancouver are currently in 12th place in the Western Conference, 14 points behind the playoff zone.
