Leon Edwards wants to offer Conor McGregor a welterweight fight
Now the Irishman is too heavy for the lightweight division.
Reigning welterweight title holder Briton Leon Edwards has expressed his desire to fight former double champion Conor McGregor upon his return to the octagon.
According to the British fighter, judging by the posts on social networks, Conor's current weight is far from his favorite lightweight division, and he could well compete in the welterweight division.
“If Conor comes back and wins well at welterweight, then I would more than welcome a fight between us. It will be a massive battle for Europe,” said the Briton.
Edwards held his last fight in August last year, in which he knocked out Kamaru Usman and took the belt from him.
As for McGregor, he has not performed since the summer of 2021, although he has been actively announcing his imminent return lately.
