Beterbiev defeated Yard by knockout and defended the championship belts

The Brit's corner threw in the towel in the eighth round.

On the night of January 29 at London's Wembley Stadium, Artur Beterbiev defended his WBC, IBF and WBO titles in a tough fight with British boxer Anthony Yarde.

In some rounds, the challenger was in no way inferior to the champion, and in several segments, judging by the subsequent notes of the judges, he even had an advantage.

However, Beterbiev did not rely on a referee's decision and in the eighth round caught the Briton with a short blow, knocking him down.

After some time, Yard managed to continue the fight, but his corner considered it dangerous and threw in the towel as a sign of defeat.

Thus, Beterbiev defended his titles, having won the nineteenth victory in nineteen fights.
