"Formula 1" abandoned the idea of reducing the weight of cars in 2023
F-1 bosses and team representatives did not come to a common denominator.
Disputes about the need to reduce the weight of Formula 1 cars have been postponed to an indefinite future. The weight of F1 racing cars will remain unchanged this season.
It was a new generation of fireballs, the minimum weight of which has increased from the standard 749 kg to 798 kg.
Throughout the past year, Formula has been actively discussing the option of reducing the weight by two kilograms, although some teams have proposed limiting themselves to one kilogram.
As a result, the parties did not come to any common solution that would suit everyone. In 2023, the cars will compete with last year's mass.
