Khabib relative helps Volkanovski prepare for Makhachev fight
It's just business and nothing personal.
In Perth, Australia on February 11 at UFC 284, Russian Islam Makhachev will defend the lightweight belt in a duel with featherweight Alex Volkanovski.
Both athletes are intensively preparing for the most important confrontation in their career. But if Makhachev is helped by his old team with the exception of Khabib Nurmagomedov, then there is an unusual addition to the Australian training camp.
As Makhachev himself said, “one of Volkanovski’s sparring partners is Mairbek Taisumov, he is a distant relative of Khabib”
“I don’t know if he and Khabib talked about this. Many people sent me his photo in the Volkanovski camp. How do I feel about it? Yes, I do not care. This is business,” the Russian fighter explained.
