Ian Nepomniaschy will play in the tournament for the chess crown
The Russian's opponents will be seven grandmasters.
Russian chess player Jan Nepomnyashchy will play in the Madrid's championsip.
The competition, which starts on June 17, will feature eight grandmasters. Nepomniaschiy will face China's Ding Lizhen, France's Alireza Firuzja, Americans Fabiano Caruana and Hikaru Nakamura, Hungary's Richard Rapport, Azerbaijan's Teymur Radjabov and Poland's Jan Krzysztof Duda.
The winner of the tournament will face the current holder of the chess crown, Magnus Carlsen of Norway, in a world championship match.
