Legendary Real Madrid striker Amancio dies

Famous Spanish footballer Amancio Amaro has died at the age of 84.

At the club level, the striker played for Real Madrid in 1962-1976, played 471 matches, scored 155 goals. Nine times won the championship of Spain, three times - the Cup of the country, and also in 1966 the European Cup.

Amancio played 42 matches for Spain, scoring 11 goals. In 1964 he became the European champion.

Since October 2022, he has been honorary president of Real Madrid.
