Max Verstappen wins the Bahrain Grand Prix

The Dutch driver took the 21st pole position of his career.

Max Verstappen won the Bahrain Grand Prix qualification and took the 21st pole position of his career. His teammate Sergio Pérez confirmed Red Bull Racing's speed with a second-place finish at the start.

“Great birthday present for dad. I hope you watched the broadcast! Yesterday we had a rather difficult start of the weekend and even today I couldn't find the rhythm. Fortunately, in qualifying, we managed to put all the components together. Of course, I'm happy to take pole and the fact that after last year our team has a fast car again, and Sergio will start next to me. It's incredible, I'm looking forward to the race. The rule changes this season should have slowed the car down a bit, but we were still faster, it's good to see that. As the season goes on, everyone will noticeably add again - this is the beautiful side of Formula 1," said Verstappen.
