WADA Director General Olivier Niggli commented on the timing of the consideration of the doping case of Kamila Valieva.
“It is very difficult to predict now how long it will take, because many different factors affect the case, in particular, how the athlete’s lawyers will handle the case. We would like to do everything possible so that the case is considered as quickly as possible. But the case is very complex, "it combines three appeals. I would be very optimistic if I said that we will get a decision before the end of the year, there are still many unknown factors in the case now," he stressed.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency acquitted Kamila Valieva. RUSADA, WADA and ISU filed appeals against this decision.
