The figure skating season is over: how much Russian athletes earned

Kamila Valieva, who is the subject of an ongoing doping scandal, is among those who have added a substantial sum to their balance sheet.

On March 18, the figure skating season in Russia came to an end with the show program tournament. In this competition figure skaters received the last prize money of the year, with two of the athletes not competing in Russian starts, and the winner of the Russian Challenge, Alexey Yagudin, hung up his skates on the nail a long time ago.

The winner of the tournament of show programs got 5 million rubles. Second place and 3 million rubles earned the pair Victoria Sinitsina / Nikita Katsalapov, a million for the bronze earned Anna Shcherbakova. Another million was earned by those who won the audience award. These are Kamila Valieva, Mark Kondratyuk and the couple Vasilisa Kaganovskaya / Valery Angelopol. Prizes from the judges and 500 thousand rubles each went to Tatyana Totmyanina / Maxim Marinin, Tatyana Volosozhar / Maxim Trankov, Mikhail Kolyada, Sofia Akatieva and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva.

This season Russian athletes did not participate in international competitions, so all bets, including money, were made on domestic starts. The most important of them are the Russian Grand Prix. Figure skaters get 500 thousand rubles for winning each event, second place "costs" 300 thousand and third place 200 thousand rubles. Athletic and dance pairs shared the prize money in half. A skater could take part in two stages of the Grand Prix at most. In the finals there were separate prize money: a million for the victory, 750 thousand for second place, and 500 for third.

At the Russian Championship the prize money was also a million: 2.5 for "gold", 1.5 for "silver" and a million for "bronze".

In addition, Russia held a unique competition - a team jumping tournament. Yevgeny Plushenko's team made 5 million rubles, Eteri Tutberidze's team made 3 million, and Alexei Mishin's team made 2 million.

One more team competition - the Channel One Cup. The winner of the tournament team Alina Zagitova - received 11 million, and a team of Kamila Valieva - 9 million.

Another item in the income list of skaters - the prize money at the end of the season. The most successful skaters get the money. It is a special bonus. Everyone gets 5 million rubles for the first place, 2.5 million for the second place and one million for the third. Kamila Valieva stood out among the singles, Pyotr Gumennik was the best among the men, Aleksandra Boikova / Dmitry Kozlovsky and Anastasia Mishina / Alexander Gallyamov were among the rating sports couples, Elizaveta Shanaeva / Pavel Drozd among the dancing couples.

Kamila Valieva earned the most prizes following the results of the competition - 9 million 958 thousand rubles. Among men Peter Gumennik earned the most - 9 million 741 thousand. Even Alexei Yagudin entered the top 10 in terms of earnings - and all thanks to a victory in the tournament of show programs.

Alexandra Trusova, who missed most of the competition season and additional tournaments, earned only 500,000 rubles.
