Charles Oliveira has agreed to fight Islam Makhachev
Earlier, the Brazilian stated that the Russian fighter should have preliminary fights on his way to the title fight.
There have been controversy and rumors surrounding a potential fight between two of the strongest fighters in the lightweight division, Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev, for a long time.
The problem was mainly hidden in the unwillingness of the Brazilian side to respond to Makhachev's team offer.
One moment Oliveira wanted a fight in his homeland, the next moment he suddenly announced that the Russian has not yet deserved a title fight and must fight someone else first. Or even demanded a higher fee.
But suddenly Charles wavered, saying that he's ready to fight Makhachev without any preconditions before the end of the year.
"Actually, Islam deserves praise - he has a long winning streak. Yes, Khabib is looming behind him, and the support of such a man always gives weight. Of course, in a good way Islam would have to have one more fight. But if the UFC decides we should fight, I'm ready. If Makhachev is ready too, we can do it closer to the end of the year and the place of the fight doesn't matter", - Oliveira surprised Oliveira with that statement.
