Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone to be inducted into UFC Hall of Fame

The introduction ceremony will take place on July 6 as part of International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, one of the most active and popular fighters of the last few decades, will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer. The promotion was announced on Saturday during a UFC broadcast in San Antonio.

Cerrone, 39, will join a prestigious class that includes former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Jose Aldo, as well as lightweight pioneer Jens Pulver. The Colorado native, who has lived and trained in New Mexico for years, will be inducted into the modern wing of the gym.

The introduction ceremony will take place on July 6 as part of International Fight Week in Las Vegas.

Cerrone never won a UFC title, but that hardly mattered to the fans. "Cowboy" was the action fighter with the most fight night bonuses in UFC history (18, tied with Charles Oliveira). He somehow made it by being the most active fighter on the roster in his 11 years with the promotion. Cerrone has the second most wins in UFC history and the second most finishes in UFC history. On account of his third place in the number of fights in the promotion (38) and the most number of knockdowns (20).
