Alexander Lakernik called the season successful for Russian figure skaters

ISU Honorary Vice President Alexander Lakernik praised the past season in Russian figure skating.

"Look at the competition protocols, the number of complex elements, the number of triple and quadruple jumps for men, women. This number has even increased compared to last year. The number of strong couples has also increased. I do not see any stagnation this season. Federation and the athletes coped with the tasks. But in order to develop, we need international competitions," he said.

Lakernik also emphasized that Russian skaters go their own way, combining complexity and spectacular performance. This season, the skaters have shown everything they can. He also noted that he would call this season successful.
