Ilya Averbukh spoke in favor of holding the World Cup

Ilya Averbukh expressed his opinion on the holding of the World Championship in show programs.

"This is a great idea, and I think that in the current conditions the tournament was very necessary, and it enriches the guys even more. It should stand apart, this is not an amateur competition, rather a professional one. Such professional tournaments have been held, as we know, many times in the USA, Canada, and the ISU prohibits amateurs from participating in them," he said.

He also noted that it would be a unique tournament that would enjoy tremendous interest, which would extend the career of skaters who have completed their performances in competitions.

Tournament show programs March 18 was held in Moscow. It was the first such competition in Russia.
