Manchester United head coach Eric ten Hague intended to react harshly to violations of discipline by players.
According to The Athletic, he punished one of the players for two incidents of being late to team meetings, excluding him from the starting lineup for one of the friendly matches.
Ten Hague also intends to fine players and club employees who are not on time for practices, team meetings and lunches.
Striker Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to join Manchester United and is training individually in Portugal. According to media reports, the club's management has demanded that he return to the team's location.
