Mbappe - at Real Madrid: the path of the best footballer in the world

Champion and vice-champion of the world, winner of the Nations League, seven-time champion of France Kylian Mbappe changed PSG to Real Madrid. The fact that the footballer may be in the camp of the “creamy”, have been talking for a long time, there were even negotiations, which disrupted the player himself. And yet the transition took place.

The current star of world soccer started practicing in semi-professional “Bondi”, and from there at the invitation of scouts moved to Monaco, for which he made his debut at the age of 16. In the 2016/2017 season, he helped the club become French champions for the first time in 17 years. From there he was taken on loan by PSG, and then bought for a fabulous 180 million euros. In his first year in Paris, Kylian together with the team became the champion of France, and also won the Cup of the country and the League Cup. In 2017 he played for the national team for the first time, in 2018 at the tournament in Russia he became world champion, the most valuable young player of the tournament, and also repeated the record of Pele himself: he became the second player in history under 20 years old, who scored in the finals of the World Cup. Four years later, in Qatar, he became the top scorer of the World Cup, but again the French failed to lift the trophy over their heads.

Now Mbappe, currently one of the top three scorers of the French national team, is preparing for a performance at the European Championships. From there he will return to Madrid - his agreement with Real Madrid will officially come into force on July 1.

The epic around the fact that Mbappe will become a player of “Real” began back in 2017, but then the footballer stayed in his homeland and moved to PSG. Since then, there has been talk that the Frenchman could move to Spain every offseason. The closest Mbappe came to a move was in 2022. Talks especially grew stronger at the World Cup, where the French national team became silver medalists, and Mbappe took the award for the best sniper of the mundial. The transition almost took place, but the move did not happen - then still a PSG player extended his contract with the club for two years with an option to extend for another year. “Real” in the person of its president Florentino Perez, ready for all conditions Kilian, even took offense that the nimble Frenchman left from under the nose. But was sure - he will still return to the negotiations, only this time exclusively on the terms of the “creamy”.

In 2023, Kylian told PSG bosses that he will not extend the contract with the club in 2024 - and got a lot of problems. Had to make concessions in salary to be in the application of the Parisians. And all this - for the sake of “Real”. Except now the owners of “Paris Saint-Germain” did not receive for a talented footballer nothing: Mbappe's contract will end, and he will move to Madrid for free.

In the winter of 2024 PSG made an attempt to keep the player, offering a new contract. But the player's response was obvious.

Mbappe's farewell note in PSG was a fight (according to other sources - a major scandal) with the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The club did not pay the Frenchman part of his salary. Bridges in Paris were burned. And in Madrid, they were put in place for the next five years.

What is Mbappe looking for at Real Madrid? Firstly, his first international club title. Over the last ten years, Madrid have won the Champions League six times, most recently this year, and the UEFA Super Cup four times. Kylian's major international achievements are all at national team level. In addition, a successful season at Real Madrid could allow the Frenchman to get closer to the Ballon d'Or.
