The Spanish national team players brought with them to the Palace the UEFA Cup, which had been presented to them by the King a few hours earlier at the Olympiastadion. Team captain Alvaro Morata once again handed the trophy to the monarch to express his respect and words of gratitude for his support during the preparation and performance at the tournament. The trophy was finally placed on the platform in front of the palace staircase, where the players and coach Luis de la Fuente posed with representatives of the royal family.

Letizia, famous for her elegance, chose a summer dress of dark red color for the event, her husband dressed in a light gray suit with the same tone tie as his wife's dress, and their children dressed in white jeans and red sports jerseys, reminiscent of the clothes of Spanish soccer players. They wore the number 10, the number under which the midfielder Dani Olmo, who scored three goals at EURO 2024, plays for the national team.

At one point, Felipe VI was handed a jersey with the number 4 on the back of which read “Reyes de Eropa”, which can be translated as “Kings of Europe”. This is not far from the truth, as Spanish soccer players can now be safely called by this unofficial title. Until the next EURO 2028, which, as we already know, will be held in the UK.

After the reception at the Zarzuela Palace, the Spanish winners went to another palace - Moncloa - the official residence of the Spanish Prime Minister. Pedro Sanchez thanked the athletes for showing the best side of their country on the pitch in Germany.
