Saul Alvarez gave up $100 million to fight Dmitriy Bivol

The Mexican boxer turned down a curious offer with a guaranteed payday in order to defeat the undefeated Russian fighter.

The Mexican Saul Alvarez, the undisputed middleweight champion of the world, rejected an offer from Premier Boxing Champions.

It consisted of a two-fight contract with Jermall, Errol Spence, or David Benavides with a guaranteed payment of one hundred million dollars.

As stated by Alvarez's managers, in spite of the substantial fee, the Mexican was not interested in the offer, because it was purely commercial and would not bring any sports dividends.

It was the sporting component that turned out to be most important for Saul. On May 7-8 he is going to fight with undefeated Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol in Las Vegas. And the Mexican is determined to win. So is Bivol.
