Charles Oliveira after his defeat to Islam Makhachev at UFC 280 in Abu-Dhabi on October 22 apologized to his fans and promised to return the title he used to hold.
He also asked the UFC to give him a rematch with the Russian in his home country of Brazil.
"I deserve the rematch, I even demand it. I think that on the whole my winning streak shows that I can get a second chance. And let it take place in Brazil, as I wanted before," believes Oliveira.
But at the moment the Brazilian is not eligible for a rematch according to the rules of the league, since he came to the fight in Abu Dhabi as a former champion after failing to do the weight in his last fight, and the title was vacant.
Now it went to Islam Makhachev, and the promotion will name a contender for the title fight in the near future.
