France to launch nationwide single ticket for public transport

The ticket can be used on all forms of public transport that are available in the country.

French authorities said the country plans to launch a travel pass that can be used on all public transport in the country. According to the minister-delegate in charge of transportation, Clément Bona, the measure would make travel easier and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

"The single ticket is a measure that can be applied throughout the country that will facilitate all travel. An ambitious and concrete measure: this is how we will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector and make life easier for all French people," he stressed.

According to the Ministry of Ecological Transition of France, a single ticket for public transport, which is expected to be fully operational by 2025, will ease the daily life of users and encourage more people to use public transport instead of private cars.

Earlier, it was reported that Lithuanian airports were among the first in Europe to complete preparations for the entry/exit system.
